If I had a hammer and a bunch of other tools, I’d be making jewellery at home.
This is a beginner level for those interested in jewellery metalsmithing at home. Can also be a refresher for those that need to get going again. You will play with sterling silver sheet and wire, learning how to transform them into wearable pieces of art jewellery.
Learn to use a variety of tools focusing on using hammers, pliers, torches/soldering, cutting, texture, finishing and safety. Learn how to create the components for earrings, a ring, a bracelet and a pendant. (Depending on your skill level will determine how many pieces you make. Everyone is different.)
For Safety’s sake please bring safety glasses, a cotton apron, closed shoes, clothing should be of natural fibres, no loose clothing. We don’t want to get caught on anything. Tie back long hair. Do you have your own favourite tools? - bring them. Reading glasses and a notebook? - bring those too.
Now let’s have some fun creating!
