Filigree Rings and Other Things - All levels

Filigree is an ancient technique that involves the creation of lace-like jewellery from fine silver wires. In this workshop, you will learn the basic techniques required to create filigree objects. We will then use these basic skills to make several different styles of filigree rings. Topics and demonstrations will include; preparation of fine silver filigree wire, construction of frames, filigree soldering, making traditional filigree wire shapes, soldering with both powder and paste solder. The workshop is suitable for beginner to advanced students.  Advanced students may work independently on filigree projects of their choosing with assistance from the instructor.
