Decorative Blacksmithing - Creating an ornamental grill - All Levels

In this class you will learn the basic skills of blacksmithing to be able to create a artistic ornamental grill.   Beginning and intermediate smiths will learn basic forging techniques and efficient ways of working with hammer and anvil.  Such things as hammer control, fire maintenance and safety will be of importance.  You will also learn how to manipulate the metal into scrolls, twists, upsetting, drawing out, collaring , and riveting just to name a few. The goal will be to have designed and created an ornamental 12' by 12' grill with the skills you have learned.
