Classical to Contemporary Life Drawing with Maureen Enns. Many who know me wonder how I came to teach a life drawing class after 25 years of researching and creating art about misunderstood animals such and grizzly bears and wild horses. Well, I taught life drawing with limited enthusiasm at ACAD in the 1990s. On a beach trip in Southern France, I began photographing humans of all ages - nude, from a distance. I loved the nude body in motion. A year later, armed with model release forms I photographed, drew and painted nudes on a remote beach in Mexico. In this life class I wish to share my drawing skills and ability to capture the nude figure. I hope to deliver a noon hour presentation at Series 2021 where I use the nude body as a metaphor for a sea polluted by plastic six pack beer can rings – naked where sea-turtles struggle for survival.
