Drawing with the world in mind is a drawing based course designed to enliven our resiliency and creativity as we move through challenging times. Leaning into a creative practice during these times is helpful in developing meaningful insights and in cultivating imaginative ways to give constructive shape to the future. With the world in mind, this course will focus on the communicative power of art. In particular, drawing as a way to be curious about the ordinary, the mundane and the everyday in a way that celebrates and expands our knowledge of how we live our lives. The course will offer a series daily drawing exercises that build upon one another including; experiments with drawing mediums, demonstrations in drawing fundamentals, explorations in drawing from objects, still life, photographs, memory and imagination. Slide show presentations and discussions, one on one critiques and sharing as a group will be part of the course.
