Carpenters build and repair a vast array of structures using a large number of hand and power tools. They also work with different materials including wood, concrete, steel and glass. Carpenters may work for construction companies, general contractors, and maintenance companies or may be self-employed. The Pre-employment Carpentry program covers all course materials received by a first year apprentice, plus additional hands-on skills, safety training, and employability skills.
