- Explore the typical ages and stages of brain development and learn how substance use impacts youth differently at each stage.
- Practice trauma informed communication with vulnerable youth without guilt, shame or blame for either party.
- Use basic assessments from the DSM-V to recognize individuals who may be living with substance use disorder.
- Explain prevention and intervention strategies that acknowledge the learners' duty to care and specific epidemiology of youth substance use.
