Language Arts

Language Arts, Reading - This course will study Language Arts through the study of non-fiction and literary texts. Learners will learn to interpret reading passages in preparation for the GED exam.

Language Arts, Writing - Instruction will focus on detecting and correcting common errors in Canadian English by studying sentence structure, organization, usage, and mechanics. This course will include practice essays and assignments.

HyFlex Weekends - In this stream, learners have the option to attend classes in-person, live online, or work at their own pace using class recordings and study materials provided online. This stream is the most comprehensive option, offering 250 hours of instruction across five subject areas.

Fast Track – Online - This stream focuses on self-directed learning in an online environment. Learners are provided with all course materials and are expected to lead themselves through the modules, completing all course work within six weeks. Learners have access to their instructor via email as well as virtual office hours one evening each week. It is recommended that learners dedicate 15 hours per week to learning (3 hours per subject).

HyFlex Weekends - In this stream, learners have the option to attend classes in-person, live online, or work at their own pace using class recordings and study materials provided online. This 150-hour program provides an overview of all subjects and is recommended for learners looking for a refresher course rather than comprehensive learning.
