Introduction to Still Life, from life-and the Language of Paint
ID :

« back to classes page
I like to keep things “Simple” a process more about painting relationships and ideas, than formulas. As artists, we need to develop a deep understanding in order to make beautiful paintings.
What makes a beautiful painting? This is one of the thought provoking ‘ideas’ we’ll be exploring in this challenging and eye-opening workshop.
In a direct approach to painting our beautiful still lifes, we’ll explore how to set up our own still life and pay close attention to major concepts such as light and beautiful paint quality to create a stunning painting.
We’ll stay true to those important “fundamentals” as you learn to have “the confidence in yourself” to pull it all together and portray your subject sensitively. You will not merely be painting a still life.
You will be creating a beautiful painting.
If you are interested in learning new concepts that will take your paintings (no matter the genre!) to a higher level of “understanding”, I can’t think of a better vehicle to explore with paint than the still life … to make that a reality for you.
