CWB FCAW

Red Deer Polytechnic is a Certified Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) testing facility. If you are a welder but are not employed by a company certified to CSA W47.1, and not a member of a union providing testing facilities, you can make arrangements to be tested at Polytechnic. Upon successful completion of the test, you will be given a letter by the Canadian Welding Bureau representative certifying CSA W47.1 standards.

All tests are $155 per test plate + GST (price includes materials). CWB tests are conducted Wednesdays at 8:00 am.

Note: CWB employee(s) (testers), the welding student(s) and interpreter(s) must come prepared with CSA-approved safety boots, safety glasses and welding gloves. Individuals will not be permitted in the shop until meeting this safety requirement.
